I am oh so gently being lead by the Spirit today to blog on “worry.” I questioned myself…”Is this truly the topic for my Friday afternoon?”
The Lord answered my question by providing me with this beautiful photo.
And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Matthew 6:28

God has also directed me to several verses that speak on “worry.” As you read these may God use His Word to permeate your heart today.
25 Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?
26 And if worry can’t accomplish a little thing like that, what’s the use of worrying over bigger things?” Luke 12:25-26
Don’t worry about anything; INSTEAD:
- pray about everything.
- Tell God what you need, and
- THANK HIM for all he has done.
7 Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.”
Matthew 6:25-31 Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?
27 Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life[b]?
28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.
I need a solution!! How can I stop worrying?
There is always so much to worry about!!
“Be still in the presence of the Lord,
and wait patiently for him to act.”
Worry weighs a person down; an encouraging word cheers a person up.” Proverbs 12:25
33 But SEEK FIRST HIS KINGDOM and HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS, and all these things will be given to you as well.
34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
- Seek FIRST His Kingdom/His Righteousness
- Be still
- Pray about everything
- Tell God what you need
- THANK HIM for all he has done
- Wait patiently for HIM to act
- Then experience God’s peace
May you be blessed as you lean on Him and experience His peace today.
In His Service, Joan
